The best car routes to the Wilder Kaiser

Many roads lead to the Wilder Kaiser region. The four Kaiser towns of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll are located directly on Loferer Straße L178 and are therefore very easy, quick and easy to reach. The imposing mountain massif will show you the way and guide you safely to your booked accommodation. Arrival by car from the north (DE, NL, BE, DK, PL etc.)
  • Motorway A8 Munich – Rosenheim
  • Motorway A93 Rosenheim – Kufstein
  • Exit Kufstein-Süd
  • Direction St. Johann in Tirol
  • Söll or Scheffau, Ellmau, Going
Arrival by car from the east (AT, CZ, SK, HU etc.)
  • A1 motorway to Salzburg
  • Exit 297 – Wals via Bad Reichenhall, Lofer and Waidring to St. Johann in Tirol
  • Direction Wörgl
  • Going, Ellmau, Scheffau, Söll
Arrival by car from the west, south-west (IT, CH, FR etc.)
  • Autobahn A12 Innsbruck – München
  • Exit Wörgl-Ost

to the Wilder Kaiser region

The section from the state border to The Kufstein Süd motorway exit has been toll-free since December 15, 2019.
This means that you can travel to the Wilder Kaiser region without a vignette!

A vignette is required on all Austrian motorways. A 10-day vignette (shortest variant) costs
€ 9.40 for cars and € 5.40 for motorcycles. You can get the vignette at almost all petrol stations and motorway service stations near the border. Coming from the north, the Kiefersfelden motorway service station is the last option to buy a vignette.

We recommend: Guest card = ticket

Our guest card inkludes using all public line busses in the area up to Kufstein, Wörgl and St. Joahann in Tirol or Kitzbühel. Just show your guest card to the bus driver when you enter the bus. You can request your guest card at your accommodation before your arrival.
